Oh my word it has been a long time since I last properly updated my website it has to be 7 months. I really have to get all my work up on her that I have done in that time. Not that I’ve done as much as I’d wanted to.
This time I’ve taken a long Hiatus but I’m hoping to see the finally couple of weeks left of 2025 drawing more. That is my plan but that doesn’t always happen. Life has a way of changing our best laid plans.
I have to start somewhere so the best place is where I left of. Looking back at my trusty photos that I take regularly of life in general. It’s my go to reference they are just as good a journalling which I have also got out of the habit doing.
Here goes, back in May I had some devastating news that one of my young cats had broke his jaw. He had gone to the vets to have his teeth extracted not realising this at the time. The vet phoned me to tell me what had happened while he was under anasetic, they wanted to put him to sleep while under but I said no I needed my boy home to spend the last few days – which turned in to be just over a week to say goodbye.
I have to say it was one of the most horrid shocking times of my life and I still haven’t gotten over it. I miss him so much. He was such a handsome boy. I have always said that once I had drawn him I would know I could actually draw on my own without learning tutorials.
So while I had him with me I found a tutorial to practice drawing a ginger cats face. This isn’t him but it was close enough.
I haven’t gone back to it, at the moment it’s still too painful. But I will or I may be brave and take the plunge and draw from one of the many photos I have of him.
Here it is

I just love drawing eyes, I find them easier than fur. If you get the eyes right you are instantly drawn to the drawing. The eyes rarely change where fur does from photo to photo.
I had this on my pending work whiteboard until recently.
I do feel or did feel back May that I am starting to have to confidence to draw on my own. Now I have to say because I’ve not practiced I’d say no.
Now onto the next draw I started earlier in the year.
Till next time,
Tickety Boo

So sorry you lost your sweet boy. Your drawings look so beautiful. Looking forward to seeing what else you’ve been working on. Hugs
